The interdisciplinary and international consortium of STRATUM coordinated by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) includes a total of 12 partners from 6 different countries. We share a common vision to create the 3D Decision Support Tool for brain surgery guidance and diagnostics based on multimodal data integration and processing, offering a device suitable for healthcare in 2028 and beyond. The interdisciplinary consortium formed by IT scientists (telecommunication, electronic, biomedical and computer science engineers), clinicians (neurosurgeons, oncologists, neuroradiologists, neuropathologists, etc.), health researchers (molecular biologists, biostatisticians, mathematicians, physicists, health economists, etc.) and social sciences and humanities experts (psychologists, linguists, etc.) will work together to find the optimal solutions for each independent problem and for the system as a whole. They are all integrated into the STRATUM tool as following:
Medical Data Processing
HPC Hardware/Software
Clinical and Health Research
Research Industry & Societal
This interdisciplinary approach will ensure the success in developing and validating the 3D Support Decision Tool for brain surgery guidance and diagnostics based on multimodal data.
Several Consortium partners have previously collaborated on various cutting-edge healthcare research projects (HELICoiD, DEEPHEALTH, ASTONISH, NEMESIS-3D-CM, SustainML, ITHaCA, etc.). The results of these collaborations have been presented on the international stage in several conferences and journal publications. This project will therefore facilitate the continued flow of researchers, ideas and resources between the Consortium partners in a structured way, towards a concrete, well-defined outcome.
